Posts Tagged ‘Marshall’ Austin Bazaar would like to offer a moment of silence to a man known for making things loud. Jim Marshall, founder of Marshall Amps, passed away today at the age of 88. He created his first amp in 1960 in England, and since then the name “Marshall” has become ubiquitous with amps in the world of rock and roll. He was truly a beloved figure to musicians everywhere- his amps found a home among musicians such as Jimi Hendrix, Slash, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, and Pete Townshend. To celebrate “50 Years of Loud,” Austin Bazaar announces the arrival of the 50th Anniversary line of limited edition amps. At approximately 11 week intervals through 2012, Marshall will reveal five limited edition 1-watt all-valve head and combo pairings. Each pair will represent a decade of Marshall’s business. The debut of the JTM-1C 1×10-inch combo and the JTM-1H head bring the power and richness of the 1960s tone and aesthetics. The all-valve JTM-1C has a Celestion 10-inch speaker and 8- and 15-ohm speaker outputs on both head and combo versions. |
